It says in the instruction to cut the spud shaft down 3/8 of an in. What would you suggest for doing this. Thanks in advance Jim

Yes, I would suggest trimming the input shaft 3/8" of an inch. On some applications you can get away without trimimg. Have you tried to assemble yet?

yes i tried to assembly and it is about 3/8 to long
