73 bronco engine and transmission conversion

by: bobbyb6464500

Dear Guys,
I was curious to know if it s possible to fit a 460 block and C6 transmission into the bronco. And if so, what mods, parts, transfer case replacement are required for this project . I intend to build a bullet proof one time project where I wont have to upgrade after sometime. Also, Would you recommend a 351 Windsor conversion instead.
Please refer companies that supply parts for this project.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.,
Regards.
Bob.

Hi Bob,
Advance Adapters part # 50-4301 is the adapter for a C6 to Bronco Dana 20 transfer case. We don't have any expierence with big blocks into Bronco's. I would suggest a 351 Windsor instead of a 460 big block.

Go with a 351w & build it up to 460 cubic inches for insane power http://www.mustangandfords.com/techarticles/engine/mdmp_1010_world_products_man__o_war_windsor_style_crate_engine/viewall.html
Take it from me though the stock 351 has plenty of torque already so you're going to break stuff with much more power. Drivelines, front & rear axles, transfer case output shafts, even the motor mounts & cross brace for the transfer case will need beefed up! I have broken all of these since my swap.
